CCNSG Contractor Safety Passport – Renewal (ECITB)

The CCNSG Renewal course aims to refresh the delegate’s knowledge of the subject matter covered in the National 2 day course

The course as a whole is an “awareness” module, none of the sections are exhaustive of information and legislation, some of the delegates may have additional material to share on subjects, especially if they are trained and qualified on the subject. It is important to stress that after completion of this course, the delegates are not trained and competent to complete all of the work tasks covered. All work tasks will vary on the environment at the time, as well as other factors

3 sessions in total, with 3 written assessments throughout the day:

Session 1

How much do you remember? The Impact of an accident. The Importance of Safe Behaviour. Legal Framework

Session 2

Risk assessments, types and uses Permit To Work, hot work and fire Site transport. Working at height and lifting operations. Work equipment and electricity

Session 3 Confined spaces, safety signs and signals Hazardous substances, manual handling Noise, vibration, excavations, hazards and control measures Good Practice, hazards and controls

At the end of the course delegates should be able to:

  • Realise the importance of the Safety Passport itself, as well as the importance of the engineering construction industry as a whole.
  • Have an awareness of health and safety at work as well as what their employer and they must do to abide with governing laws.

CCNSG Renewal delegates must have a current safety passport to be eligible to sit this renewal course. Successfully completing all assessment papers will result in a renewed safety passport being issued. The passport is valid for 3 years and can be refreshed anytime during the 3 months before or after the expiry date. However some sites will refuse access if contractors present an expired safety passport

IMPORTANT UPDATE: (As of 03 November 2021) The 3 month grace period currently allowed after the expiry date of a CCNSG card will come to an end from 1st April 2022. Therefore from the 1st April 2022 delegates will be required to attend a Renewal Course or take the online renewal test BEFORE their safety passport expires.
